Everyone visits San Jose’s Christmas in the Park during the holiday season, even the non-Christians. Its probably the event that San Jose does best. WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Renewal
What says “renewal” better than a fresh coat of paint? I learned that the Golden Gate Bridge is always in the state of “being painted”. Before a paint job on the bridge completes at one end, another has already started.

Mexico Vacation IV, Oct 25, 2012
We spent a day in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The large hotel/resorts are along the waterfront in the middle of the city. The cruise ships make port calls here. So there’s plenty of tourist attractions: flea markets, bars, restaurants.

Mexico Vacation III, October 24-27, 2012
Elena and I went to Mexico for a week; the first visit for both of us. We got a terrific deal at a 5*, all inclusive resort in Nuevo Vallarta, just north of Puerto Vallarta. Did we need this vacation?

Mexico Vacation II, 10/24/2012
Excursion to San Sebastian del Oeste, which was founded as a mining town in 1605 during the Spanish colonial period. Gold silver and lead were mined around the area. Bus trip into the hills from Puerto Vallarta included a tour of the town, and visits to an organic plantation in town, a historic hotel just outside town and a tequila distillery en route.
